case studies - brand identity
How do you want your customers to perceive your brand?

Brand identity is the overall appearance and promise a company makes to its customers. It reflects the values of the brand and is built from company features, quality, performance, benefits and service. The brand is regarded as a product with a personality, a company with values, and a position it occupies in the customer's minds. Brand identity is everything the company wants to be seen as.

Brand image, in relation to identity, is the sum of the consumer's perception about the brand, or how your customers see you, which may not meet your expectations or the potential of your brand identity. Most companies work hard to ensure the consumer experience is positive and what their customers see and think is what they want them to.

We work with a wide range of companies from a wide variety of industries and have helped to bridge the gap between their brand image and their brand identity.

logo redesign, character design & rebranding

The new logo for West Coast Amusements, on of western Canada's largest amusement park attractions company, is actually a reworking of their original, which dates back to the late 40's or early 50's.

The new version ties in the fun color scheme applied during the beautification and brand consistency overhaul we brought to their entire organization.

WCA logo redesign - past to present

WCA contracted ikrave to strengthen their widely recognized brand identity and bring brand consistency to the business. They wanted to separate themselves from the poor public perception of the carnival industry and create a more positive experience through a higher level of organization and professionalism that was reflected in their brand image.

From ride, game and park signs and banners to staff uniforms, ride tickets, fair coupons, posters and advertisements, the new brand identity is now recognizable in everything they print, publish and display.

WCA mascot/ characterIn addition to the logo design we also designed WCA a new mascot, Sam the Lion, who was incorporated into the brand identity and has helped to better their brand image. Sam was made into a full-size character suit by one of Vancouver's top mascot designers.

Sam can now be found bringing fun to everyone on the WCA midway.
